
According to the National Retail Federation, American households collectively spend about $18 billion each back-to-school season. Of those dollars, 95% ($17.1 Billion) went towards clothes and accessories. Seemingly, the most expensive part of the back-to-school season proves to be clothes purchases, though, this probably doesn't surprise anyone!
But the consequence of these statistics for frugal families is clear:
